Construction site update for weeks 37–38
The façade work on the Tower Building is nearing completion. Once the surface finishing work has been completed, the façade scaffolding will begin to be dismantled during week 37. After the scaffolding has been removed, groundworks between the Tower Building and the adjacent wooden building are expected to begin in week 38 and continue in stages until approximately week 40.
Mechanical rock breaking around the tower crane near the parking garage may continue during the early part of week 37. The work will cause noise and some vibration. Other loud construction noise or vibrations that may be noticeable in the Kaskenmäki area may also originate from other nearby construction sites.
Friday’s concrete pour will exceptionally begin at 6:00 a.m.
On Friday, 11 September, two concrete slabs will be poured in the Sirkkalankatu side of the future Kaskenmäki health and social services centre. The concrete pump will arrive at the site at approximately 5:30 a.m., and the pouring work will exceptionally begin at 6:00 a.m. Concrete deliveries will result in more traffic than usual to the construction site from early morning onwards.
Construction of the parking garage is also progressing. The next concrete pour for the parking garage roof slab will take place on Monday, 14 September. The work will begin at 7:00 a.m. Concrete deliveries will also result in increased traffic around the construction site during this pour.
– The completion of the Tower Building façade and the removal of the scaffolding are a visible milestone for the construction site. At the same time, work is progressing both in the parking garage and in the future health and social services centre. Several phases of construction will be under way simultaneously over the coming weeks, says Matti Koivu, responsible site manager at Lujatalo.
