No blasting work will take place at the Kaskia Wellbeing Block construction site during week 49, but other work continues as usual. Work on site includes drilled piling, earthworks, removal of rock and soil, and preparatory work for upcoming blasting, such as rock drilling. Demolition work also continues in the old hospital building and the Tornitalo building.
Changed traffic arrangements
Pedestrian access next to the construction site on Itäinen Pitkäkatu will be closed from next week to accommodate the construction site.
Traffic arrangements on Sirkkalagatan have also changed: the street is two-way, but the section adjacent to the former hospital building is used by the construction site. Pedestrian access is therefore closed in this section, and parking is prohibited on the opposite side of the street.
Blasting work is expected to resume in week 51.
